Subject: [M]: Damaged LX-200
All,
I made a terrible mistake recently and left my LX-200 "on" and tracking
Mars after I left my small observatory. I discovered the problem three
days later with the scope strangled by the Dec controll cord.
I replaced the fuse going to the transformer and now the telescope gets
power. But the hand-controller says Meade only and I can't get the scope
to do anything.
Any ideas besides sending it back to Meade?
Sounds as if you have the same problem I had when I did a similar thing the
DC drive motor is dead. The software halts in its startup procedure if it can
not get any pulses from the motor speed chopper on the motor shaft.
