The risk of a strangled telescope is high - in particular - if you leave the
observatory with a telescope still powered up.
On our student observatory - we have installed a 2 hours dead-watch - a
permanent electrical switch - if kept untouched - it will power the
telescope off after 2 hours.
The cost is less than 100 Dollars - and it gives you a good nights sleep...
