While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi,

I am using a Meade 8" LX50, and would like to add a guide scope. What are
the important considerations in choosing a guide scope for my LX? I read
some where that a guide scope should be of a particular focal length or
focal ratio.
I was considering the Orion short tube as I am on a budget, but I also own a
Meade 90mm refractor at 1000mm focal length. My only concern with the 90mm
as a guide scope is its weight,
Any suggestions or recommendations would be welcome.
Thanks, guys.
Ron Peterson
