While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Thank you for the replies and suggestions. I am actually testing the scope
indoors through the local 220 volt AC power outlet in my flat. Unfortunately
I am not familiar with some of the devices that some people have suggested.
I do have a multi meter and would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can
check the power supply and the scope to see if I can find the culprit.
