Andrew
In the begining, I had a the very same problem. After the failure to =
communicate between the scope and control computer we checked the data =
on the RS-232 line. It was like the 'Tower of Babel' A mess. The scope =
and the tracking programs were both trying to take control. At present, =
We are operating the system as follows. We use ACP, Sky Map pro, Guide 7 =
or Deep Sky 99 by themselves or in combination. They all work.
1- Turn on tracking computer in the lab
2- Boot up ACP for example
3- Plug in RS-232 lead into scope
4- Plug in power lead into scope "DO NOT TURN POWER ON YET"
5- Align scope. Alt/Az
6- Turn power on scope
7- Handset reads 'MEADE', S'ware ver # and then arrow pointing =
to'TELESCOPE' on the handset.
8- DO NOT PUSH ANY BUTTONS ON THE HANDSET
9- ON ACP 'CONNECT'
The 'TIME' and 'POSITION' readouts come on. (Thanks Bob =
Denny)
10- Set your 'SITE'
11- Use 'Alignment Wizard' for star alignment ACP knows you are in =
Alt/Az IF prior to all this the scope computer was set for Alt/AZ mode
12- Then 'GO' Pick your object 'it'll work'
Yesterday, I tracked the sun for most of the day. At about 1800 UT used =
'GO' on ACP to slew to Venus. It was right in the field of view. =
Latter we looked at M67. again using 'GO' in ACP. =20
