Dave -- If your serious about CCD work, then the f/10 is better for
planetary images. Even at f/10 you will need a barlow or image projection.
In any event you can always use a reducer with the f/10 to get 6.3 or 3.3.
Personally, I'm using the 12" lx200 at f/10 and love it. You can see some
of my (st7, and st7/A07 images at Deep Soace 99 below. Also images
taken at f/6.3 and f/3.3.

I'm not much into planetary images yet, but the little I've tried is the basis
for my above suggestions.
