While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I thought I had better clear up any misunderstandings.

I did in fact right to Bob Denny but via my other email account. (sorry for
the confusion I may have caused you Bob). My problems with ACP or Deepsky 99
have and will always be addressed to the Author first. It is after all only
fair and proper to discuss any problems with them first before we broadcast
our issues publicly.

For the record ACP, Deepsky 99 and 'The Sky L4 V5' are three outstanding
programs that even work quite well together. There are more programs and as
time goes by I may get round to testing them. I have to say that I have
already purchased 'The Sky', the rest are 'on approval' for the limited
period. Both Steve Tuma (Deepsky 99) and Bob Denny (ACP) have offered
outstanding back up for their products and I have not even paid them yet!

At the end of the day my problem is most likely to be (it seems) with my LX
200 coms, the manual or me). (I should also comment on Meades support here,
the dealer is in Hong Kong is superb). The programs I mentioned probably
only show symptoms caused by the LX200 not responding to only these 3
commands issued via a terminal program:-

:GA# (Should Altitude )
:GZ# (Should get Azimuth),
:GS# (Should get sidereal time).

All others command seem to function ok, maybe these are not meant to work
but the manual says they should.

Sometimes it takes a bit more than author and dealer support and that is why
I thank all those who contribute to MAPUG for your help and support.

Please excuse me if I do not respond for a couple of days.

Andrew
