While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I had a 208xt last summer and used it for about 5 months largly as an autoguider.
In that mode with the latest (then) PictorView it worked reasonably well as an autoguider
and I did on a couple of occasions image DS objects just to see what it would do. It has much faster digitazation and
download then the 216xt and a much larger chip than an ST-4 as well as better cooling. As an autoguider I think it is
competition for the ST-4 if you don't want to use some of the fancy software capabilities like ccdtrac that the ST-4 has
available. Although you could image with it I don't think that many people would be happy with the 8 bit A/D
resolution. Save your money and get a camera with 12 bit or 16 bit resolution for imaging.
