While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I have a 10" Starfinder desperately in need of collimation and the
"Eyeball in the Focus Tube" method is not adequate. I can get it
pretty close, but Mars and Venus are distorted. There are a lot of
choices out there, including but not limited to:
-Orion collimating eyepiece - the price is right, but is it any good?
-Lots of laser collimators, some holographic - worth the price?
-Some one offers a "complete" set of collimating tools for around
$100, I'll have to find the ad in Astronomy Mag for the name, but I'm
sure someone out there in mapug-land knows who I'm talking about.
-Any others?
I realize this has probably been well-covered in the mapug archives, I
just don't have the time to look. Sorry.
TIA,
Jay Inman
