While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?


Another method for those that like to experiment is to use a light source
such as an automobile tail light bulb. Build a housing and run it at
half voltage, like 6v AC or DC works fine....................I use a 6mm
Ortho eyepiece just in front of the filement of the light
bulb................focus is not important for a collimator. Set the
unit as far away as practical and collimate away................works as
good as the Sun and can be use at night even in
Seattle......................ric
