I don't have any experience with the Kendrick batteries but I do run my lx200
using the Meade 12 to 18vt steppe transformer and a Sears Diehard deepcycle
marine battery for just the reason you talk about- among others. I've run
the system for several 5-6 hr sessions (an entire week at the TSP) before
recharging although the battery indicator said it was only around 50%
discharged. (I usually run the Kendrick dew heaters off another, 5 year old,
marine battery and have about the same discharge cycle) - But this topic got
a lot of line space a few months ago so you should go back into the archives
and track down some of the discussions.
