This isn't what you're looking for, but it works for me.... I extend each
leg slightly and make a rough attempt to level without even looking at the
built in level. I leave one screw on each leg loose and the other just
tight enough to hold the tripod but no more. I then observe the level and
push down in the appropriate direction to gently collapse the offending
leg, until I am level. Works great for me and I don't have to keep bending
over and straightening up!
By the way, my bubble level on the drive base is very accurate. I have had
extremely good one star alignments using just that level.
