While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Thanks all the mapug users they responded to my "first impression"
message for my new LX200 12".I want to say that I don't worry about
the mechanics not even about the electronics.
The scope is wonderful and works very well, it is friendly all the
ways and you can loved easy.
But I have to be sure about the optics. I see in my scope an
unexpected amount of coma aberration.
I will try to describe this amount .
I center the polaris and defocus it like when try to collimate the
scope.
The dark spot is in the center 1/2 of diameter (((.))) with
diffraction rings around indicating the scope is perfect collimating.
I move the star to the edge of field as I look from 30mm Celestron
Ultima eyepiece .
Now the dark spot moved ((((.)) about to 2/3 of the diameter.
I will appreciate answers from users Lx200 12".
I wonder if this effect is a common for this scope or mine has
more coma aberration than normal.
I use the 2" diagonal and eypieces (30 mm Ultima ,24 mm ultima ,15 and
9.7 mm Meade SP).
