I use Meades 1206 focuser and used to have the same problem. I made a
"software brake"
which stops any focus motor hooked up to the LX200 instantly, it
dobbles as a DRO and
reduces focus shift to almost zero (10 pixels in my 8"/f10/ST-7) by
always pushing the mirror in
the same direction.
You can pick up a copy at my web site.

Subject: [M]: LX200: Using JMI NGF-S Focuser
I recently acquired an NGF-S focuser for my LX200 and would like to
use
Meades power panel to drive the focuser. However, when I connect the
focuser to the LX200 control panel and use Meades hand controller the
focus motor operates at only one speed (ultra fast). It will actually
coast
for up to 1 sec after I pulse it. I believe this is probably do to
the
fact that the motor was designed to be driven at 9VDC and the LX200
control
panel operates at 18VDC resulting in a significant increase to the
motors
RPMs. I would really like to operate the entire scope from one hand
controller or even THE SKY software.
Does anyone know of any products available to correct this problem?
Or
maybe even a suggestion of how I might devise my own fix?>>>>
