Hello all,

I am having severe pointing and tracking problems with our new 16 inch
lx200. I have a 10 inch lx200 as well so I am well aware of pointing and
alignment procedures, but this is completly different. I am positive this is
hardware problem, but if someone could help me in this please do. I have
contacted local Meade dealer, but no help from them yet.

The telescope shows a constant 3 percentage error both in slewing as well as
tracking. The error is same in RA and declination. Pointing is usefull in
only a few degree slews. Tracking frequence must be set from default 60.1 Hz
to 58.5 Hz to get near perfect tracking in RA.

The telescope is permanently mounted on equatorial wedge and accuratelly
drift algined.

The telescope is purchased this spring. If someone has this year model of
16" lx200 I would be happy to hear their experiences.
