I havent experienced the error in slewing - however - the tracking error
was described in a big debate - here on MAPUG back in 1995 - involving
replies from Dennis diCicco a.o..
Following that debate - Meade opened their factory locked PEC eprom to user
acces via simple Qbasic dos commands.
Within this eprom - the sum of all values will define the precise tracking
frequency.
If you do not have this software - I may mail it to you.
