While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

There seems to be a fairly broad selection of CCD image processing
programs.
It is unclear to me what the trade-offs are between the various choices,
and I wondered if anyone had any opinions .
I am using an lx200 with 416xt and 616 color wheel.
The choices that I am aware of include,
Adobe photoshop v5.5 c.$570
MaxIm DL 2.0 $299- $375 with CCD control.
Astra Image c.$130
Astroart c.$130
CCDSoft c.$219.
I have constructed a list of comparative features, and the MaxIm program
seems to come out on top. Unfortuneately I am unable to download it so
opinions would be very useful.
I have searched the archives for prior similar discussions, but it would
seem that several of these options were not discussed previously, and
several other programs have received recent upgrades which reopens the
discussion.
regards,
Wyn Palmer
