While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I have a Starfinder 8" and the Magellan II computer. I've built a serial
cable so I could connect the Magellan to my laptop, using a DB9 connector.
I'm also using ECU for the software on the laptop.
I have verified with a multi-tester that the cable is wired correctly (I did
it myself). I have also adjusted the COM1 settings in Windows 95 to what
the Magellan book says.
When I try to "activate" the connection though, ECU say's it cannot
communicate with the device. I have verified the Serial connection is ON,
on the Magellan, and verified that ECU is also configured to the correct COM
port, and for the Magellan.
I am at a loss, and I *really* want to get this working. Does anyone have
any suggestions as to what might be the problem, or what I can do to get
this to work?
Also, I have tried connecting it to another PC I have, to just verify that
COM1 is working properly on my laptop, but it still doesn't work. Any help
or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
