I too have Jordan's Dec Fix Kit and agree that it really is excellent.

If you loosen the nut on the large gear end of the motor shaft *very*
slightly, you will find that this will act as a clutch. You can then turn
the Dec axis by hand without the gears and motor turning but the motor will
still drive the Dec axis.

I believe that this actually was designed as a clutch by Meade since it
uses the same parts as the clutch on the Meade electric focusser and is
adjusted in exactly the same way. Another little goodie not in the Manual!
