While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I always collimate with my st-7, but only after I think I have good
collimation with a high powered eye-piece. The only telescope I use this
process with is my C5 and 10" lx200 f/10. The rest of my scopes are easy to
collimate and do not require the same nagging effort that the SCT's do. I
do find using my st7 a pain to collimate with, as one little movement
knocks the image off the chip. I only suggest using it if you use your ccd
for imaging more than you use the scope visually. Otherwise a quick visual
collimation would do the trick. Make certain your telescope is set up
precisely the same way as you intend to use the ccd camera otherwise your
efforts will be wasted (including the same temperature).
