While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

i don't want to get into the pixel wars, but just want to offer
a perspective from someone who has observed with CCDs for the last 16
years, on telescopes ranging from 0.9 m at Kitt Peak to the Keck
10 meter. For almost every one of those systems, the pixel size
and median seeing were set so that there were AT LEAST 3 pixels per
median FWHM. At Keck, 0.22 arcsec pixels- median seeing 0.7 arcsec-
at 90inch on Kitt Peak - 0.3 arcsec pixels, median seeing 1.3 arcsec.

if you want seeing limited images, you have to be able to resolve
the seeing! if you want wide field, then you won't get seeing limited
images , without spending bigger bucks on more silicon area.

you pays your money and you takes your choice
