While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Joe,
What operating system are you using, WinNT, 95,98? I have found that
the RS232 ports ie..com1 or com2 are not hard coded in your PC's bios, it will
not operate PLC equipment either. Check your PC's BIOS and set the appropriate
port to a specific address, ie..3E8. It does not really matter what the address
is. On the newer computers the BIOS sets the com ports to AUTO. Most software
can't deal with that. Give it a try. I have had this same frustration with
interfacing Logic controllers.
