The only way to take of this that I can think of is to actually
SLIGHTLY decollimate the laser diode. This would not affect the
collimation process as the light being directed back to the target is
unaffected by slight misalignment of the diode. This would put the
return beam onto the face of the collimator.
Doing this would mean that the laser could not be used on a Newtonian though.
