There is no way that connecting to the computer would cause this. However, if
you actually connected the RS232 connection to the ETX base instead of the
Autostar, it is quite possible that you drained the battery power, since you
would be applying power to the batteries. The 8 batteries in the ETX base
should last you easily throught 8 hour of viewing.
