Hello Chuck,
The current President (Russell Sipe) of the Orange County Astronomers (in
Southern California) recently went through the LASIK procedure and wrote two
articles about his and others experiences in the Club newsletter (Sirius
Astronomer; Oct, Nov 1999). There may be details at the Club website:
(http://www.ocastronomers.org) or from Russell himself at: sipe@sipe.com.
If not, I can certainly fax you the articles if you would like. For a less
than ringing endorsement you might try Patricia Jonk at: pjonk@ocsd.com. She
will tell you about diminished contrast sensitivity and "ghosting" around
bright objects such as the moon. Also, try: www.surgicaleyes.com before
considering surgery.
I hope this is of some help and good luck,
Mike Cadwell
