I have used the scope with and without the Magellan and it works good
enough for me. Polar alignment is impotent. As for leveling the scope I
dont do it. I use ECU and am able to find most anything I want and is
pretty close anywhere in the sky. It may not be dead on but it is close
enough to find in a 30 eyepiece. The software is free for 30 days and is
worth a try. It may tack 30 seconds longer to set up once you have the
computer and telescope interfacing. IMO it is worth the money and am
glad I bought it.
