While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I have an 8" LX200 permanently mounted in a roll-off-roof obsv. (a
converted tool-shed).
Due to weather conditions here in Germany the 'scope is often not used for
a couple of weeks. Temperature varies from about +25 to -10°C and humidity
can go up to 85%.
In the last two years I have had to replace the mother-board twice, the Dec
motor once.
Could this be caused by temperature/moisture or do I just have the bad luck
of having gotten a "jinxed" 'scope? What should I watch out for when
leaving the 'scope unattended and unused for longer periods?
