The phrase "naked eye" used to appear on my Web site in a few places. Much
to my dismay I got mail from several teachers and parents saying that my
otherwise good site was blocked by their "nanny filters". Some even pleaded
with me to remove the N-word so that my site could be used by their kids at
school. This is, of course, totally absurd but it's also a fact of life. I
changed them all to "unaided eye".

(And of course the really salacious part of my WWW site, which talks about
the names of the Galilean satellites and has links to the awful details, is
never a problem since the nanny filters are so dumb :-)
