While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Could it be that maybe there ISN'T a specified lube?

Let's say that they told you that they used a particular lubricant. They would
then be stuck with that lube forever. If they ever decided to change lubricants,
you can be guaranteed that someone would come back claiming fraud once it was
discovered.

If they don't tell anyone what they use, then they can change it without fear
of retribution from their customers. That is why they are reluctant to put
anything in writing or respond to email. People assume that any statements
by Meade employees are automatically company policy. Meade has gotten
flamed by this in the past.
