While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I have just purchased as my first telescope a 10" Meade Starfinder, upgraded
to a JMI Motor Focus. I plan to start using my Nikon FE and PC23C video
camera. My question is: On my Starfinder, I have two locations for my
Primary mirror; the back hole locations for visual viewing and the forward
holes for Astro and video astronomy.
Do I have to change the mirror position each time I switch between the
two modes?
Advice given to me is to setup the mirror to the second set of holes, the
prime focus position, and to use 1 1/2 & 2/1/2 extenders.
My thoughts on this is why can't I just locate the mirror on the aft set of
holes, the viewing position and only use a 1 1/2 extender for Astro and video
astronomy?
Thank you for any information or tips.
