To all,
Boy what a week, first I get a bad case of the stomach flu, then I end up
having to make an emergency appointment with my dentist for a loose filling
out and it decides to have a mind of its own! I guess everything does happen
in threes.
I set up the scope as usual and turned it on. Nothing. Nothing happens
except for the word "meade" that appears on the screen. Well, "meade"
doesn't disappear. We start getting worried since I had thought that this
was one of the symptoms for a fried motherboard. After about 30 minutes of
troubleshooting, I gave up and smacked (not too hard, trust me) the base of
the scope with my open palm. The scope suddenly starts to slew in RA
uncontrollably. The contoller started to work properly, but I had no control
of the scope itself. I can scroll throught ALL of the different options on
the controller, but the N, S, E, W keys were inoperative.
Any ideas??? Is it a fried motherboard? Or did my RA motor go berzerk?? I
tried several times throughout the night to get it to work, but no good.
Everytime the same thing. Turn it on, nothing. Rap the side of the base,
controller starts to work, but the scope decides to go wild in RA.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially after the past couple days
I've had. I have a trip to Nebraska coming up in three weeks, so is this a
problem I could have fixed by then??
Thanks in advance to all that respond! This group has always been a big help!
The scope is less than a year old, and I've never had any type of problem.
