Hi, Howard,
I would suggest the Losmandy dovetail mounting system as the best choice
for this application. This gives you the ability to use the Losmandy
camera mount on it with reasonable size lenses or to mount rings on the
scope to hold larger telephoto lenses. I've done this with great success
and if you decide in the future to mount something on the order of a 1000
mm focal length scope for wide angle shots, you need only buy the
appropriate mounting rings and you'll be ready to go. I feel it's the most
flexible approach for the long term. I've also used the simple Meade
piggyback bracket for 60 and 90 minute exposures with a 200 mm telephoto
lens with great success but I feel more secure using the Losmandy camera
mount, particularly with heavier lenses. BTW, IMO the 2-axis Losmandy
mount is amply sufficient for framing shots.
