Two comments:
a) They mean it; Do Not Use Flexible Collodion!
b) Build a good dam around the edge of the mirror if cleaning in the
cell. When I had to work on refurbishing a 26 inch scope (now getting
good use at the University of Central Florida) I found that the mirror
had been cleaned with collodion which had run over the edge and down
onto the mirror support mechanisms which were literally glued in place.
Images had been really awful and the frozen multipoint suspension must
have been one reason.
