Since a few month I am owner Meade LX200,12" telescope. Now I purchase
CCDcamera „Pictor 416 XTE, I encountered some problems while I try
connecting the telescope LX200 and CCD camera „Pictor 416 XTE" to the PC.
>From the „Pictor XTE User guide" (page 4) I understood that in order to run
the set LX200, CCD „Pictor 416" and the PC, the serial port of LX200 and
serial port of Pictor Control Box have to be connected independently to the
two separate PC’s serial port, apart from the LX200-PC control connection.
It is my understanding that I should do these two extra connections using
the two phone-like cables ended with a phone jack connectors. Here arise my
few questions and difficulties:

· I do not exactly know how to do these two extra connections (LX200-PC and
Pictor Control Box-PC) with the two separate PC’s serial ports, since Meade
provide with only one RJ12-DB9 adapter?
1) Do I need another RJ12-DB9 adapter that you have not included in the
standard set, or am I trying to do the wrong connection?

· It is really necessary to connect the PC-LX200 using two cables? The
manuals suggests one for control of the telescope by any Conrol Panel (ACP
for example) and other for control of the telescope by Pictor View 7.
2) If so, why is there only one serial port on the LX200 control board?
Maybe it is possible for the PC to control the LX200 and the CCD camara
simultaneusly using only one cable? Then the problem of one serial port of
LX200 and one RJ12-DB9 adapter missing would be solved (question 1 and 2).
However I do not want to try quessing method with the connections, because I
am not sure thet it will not born out the ports.

· There are any hardware restrictions (i.e. data transmission errors)
against using longer then supplied, cable for connections Pictor Control
box - Pictor Camera unit ? I would like to use 6m long cable (What about
the old cable cut into two pieces and jointed with the other one to make it
longer?).
