If your interested in wedge plans, then I should post the plans for the
wedge I'm building when I finish the details.

The Mega Wedge is a cross between the Mead and the Mettler design. The
Mettler Wedge is very simple, yet sturdy. I took the design one step
further and added side plates for additional stability. The down side is
you need a machine shop to construct it.

The basic plan is to use a slab of aluminum or magnesium 1.5" thick as the
base plate. A 3/8" plate is hinged to the middle of the base plate that
supports the scope base. On either side of the 3/8" plate is two pieces of
bar stock that secure two 1/4" plates perpendicular to the 3/8" plate. A
large bolt ties the base plate to the end of the 3/8" plate via the two side
rails. This is the hinge. The free end is supported an adjustable singe
bolt that fine tunes the angle of the 3/8" plate. The two side plates have
an arc machined into them that allows the side plates to be bolted to the
base plate, and thus securing the assembly, once the final adjustments are
made.

The system should be the sturdiest wedge I've seen, apart from carving one
out of block steel.

I'll let you know when and where to find the Mega Wedge plans when their
ready in a week or two.
