According to John Piper at Meade, 90 percent of the Head disconnected problems are the cable that runs between the CCD head and the control box. I had the original cable that shipped with the 416XTE and when it was returned from the factory after the shutter was fixed there seemed to be a different cable that fit tight where the original was quite loose. Both failed but the first was intermittent and the second was a solid failure, as a result I personally felt that the problem was the connector at the CCD head. John Piper over nighted a new cable to me "just to try" before returning the unit again. HE WAS RIGHT and I was wrong. the new cable seems to work fine. Looking forward to trying it under clear skies - maybe tonight.
