Hello MAPUG

I have for months been using a 2" diagonal and a 35mm Panoptic eyepiece
without any balancing problems at all on a alt-az mounted Meade 8" LX200.
In my opinion it is a good combination. In theory, the hole through the
8" Meade telescopes is less than 2", so some vignetting could be expected.
In practice, this is not the case with the 35mm eyepiece. According to a
Tele Vue representative, this may be a problem with the 55mm Plossl
eyepieces but not the 35mm as it has a smaller field stop. Personally, I
have also a Meade 56mm Plossl and I do not find the problem noticeable.
