Hi George,
I might be able to help. I use a 201 and had the same problem.
Start with a bright star. Achieve best focus. Decrease exposure time if
needed. A new dark frame must be taken every time you change exposure times.
Repeat until you achieve perfect focus.
Remember, brighness values change a lot with very little movement of the
autoguider especially near perfect focus. You must be able to repeat this
position so use a focus ring or whatever to do this. I spent many hours
getting focus and never would have done it without the help of great
articles by Guido Pasi & Michael Hart located in the mapug archives. Good
