I should of said in my post that focus is the big one on the 201. Its
got to be the hardiest guy to focus, as you cant see it on a CRT. Some
where back in the archives someone, ?, made a very excellent step by
step procedure on using the 201, and by that is becomes very easy to
use. Look in there, its easy to see when you hit the many 201 post, its
all nice and neat in a line, like 1 2 3 4.
The book is very poor in some respects, but whom ever that was that did
that did an excellent job, Meade should pay them for the material. The
last post really showed the major part of it, always dark frame after
any and ALL changes you make in programing the thing. Also, if possible,
check the star your looking at, I mean it catalogue #, as I have done
this several times, and man can it make one very mad, Do not use a
VARIABLE, unless its very long duration, so youll need to know the
stats on it. Once I had one that guided for about 10 minutes with an
exposure of 7 seconds, and then it was gone. Looked at it visually, and
could hardly see it, then later tried again, and she was back. looked it
up and it had a range of I think, 4 magnitudes in change at 25 minutes.
It can happen. Mike
