Russ- I find the Meade provided finder to be adaquate for most requirements
but with a careful alignment, done on a terrrestrial object, i. e.: OTA to
finder & done b4 complete darkness,the go-to of my LX200 10" takes care of
the search aspect. Perhaps you might consider a Telrad which has no
magnification. If using a soft brimmed hat would work, it would alleviate
the viewing problem as would a sufficient amount of eye relief in the EPs.
The magnification was too large. Being unfamiliar with the sky, I had a
