While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Greetings All:
Back again on MPAUG after about a 1.8 year absence
(gee...my daughter was born 1.8 years ago...think
there is a coincidence?)
I'm in the process of selling some astronomical stuff
and will be using the money towards a LX200. Probably
a 10", probably the longer f model (figuring I can
always "step down", but can't "step up"). I'm fairly
sure that I will buy the 10" knowing that I'll want
more aperture...but also knowing that the 12" is
probably a bit too much for one person to handle!
Anybody have suggestions for the initial purchase of
accessories (and in order to avoid cluttering the list
with yet-another-newby-series of replies, please do
initial plans for the scope are for variable stars,
planetary, double stars, and--of course--deep sky.
Eventually I want to move into photography...and every
eventually CCD'ing.
I've got a pretty good selection of EP's, mostly from
TeleVue, plus both sizes of UHC filters, a moon
filter, and a fairly complete set of colored filters.
I know I'll need a dew cap/heater. I plan on getting
the "scope saver". Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Fred Kiesche
(P.S.: I was going to download/print out the LX200
manual from the Meade website, but haven't been able
to link in during the past few days...anybody know
what the problem is?)
