While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I received back my $200 fix from Meade. Looks like I got new RA and DEC
motors, same PCB, same keypad. It would appear that Meade made some
small improvements to the way all the wires are mounted within each
motor assembly. They now deposited what looks like cured glue-gun glue
on and along all solder joints.
I went to plug the RA motor cable into the main PCB and noticed that the
connector plugs in into the PCB very easily one way. However, the pin
numbers on the PCB (1 to 7) do not line up with the pin numbers on the
cable connector (also labeled 1 to 7). If I did line them up, the
connector would only go on with great difficulty; that just didn't seem
right. Which is right - correct pin # alignment, or ease of cable
connection? I am at a bit of a loss.
Thanks.
