While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Last year I took pity on a fellow (on this ng) who had the exact same
problem that you have with your LX200. He lives in Portugal and I acted as
"in between" to get him the electronics of his scope rebuilt. As it turns
out, he sent the parts to me...I called Meade and sent the parts to
Meade...Meade sent the rebuilt parts back to me...I reshipped back to
Portugal. The entire transaction cost him $200 plus the cost of shipping to
Portugal. For me, this was not a very pleasant thing as I had to wait
months for my money. Needless to say, I wouldn't do it again.

If you can find someone to do this for you, there should be no problem and
it would only cost you $200 plus the cost of shipping a 3 pound package to
and from the USA...Good luck.
