While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Meade's 800 number is...1 800 626 3233. By the way, if you call 800 =
directory assistance, you will not find the number. It appears that =
Meade requested that this number not be listed.

I agree with your comments about an 800 number and there actually is =
an 800 number. They just don't advertise it (which isn't a very good or =
friendly decision). Just call 800 directory assistance and you should =
be able to get it. I've got it at home somewhere and can dig it up if =
anyone wants it.

Two things wrong with that, first: when I called they didn't seem =
that interested at talking to me. Two: if they want to actually talk to =
us, then why not have an 800 number, so the customer isn't stuck with a =
long distant call?

Actually, while I don't agree with Meade's conclusions, their stated =
reasons
for not providing email support make sense. They want anyone with a =
support
question to actually talk to a technician with the belief that it =
provides
more personal and better customer support. Personally, I've always =
gotten
good support from Meade but I guess that doesn't help anyone outside =
the
USA.
