Thanks Michael and Donald for this reminder to other MAPUG users of
what is considered good NET ETIQUETTE [like not writing in CAPS
except for emphasis. It's considered yelling.] Particularly annoyingly
rude are the subscribers to the Digest version of MAPUG who re-quote the
entire Digest. Some even leave the Digest number in the subject line
when replying instead of quoting the subject on which they're trying to
comment.
I'm reluctant to say this but, it's not only rude, it borders on
STUPIDITY.
| Not being one to complain, but is anyone besides me bugged about
postings
to
| MAPUG that include hundreds of lines as the original post to which
they
are
| responding?
Yes. Some recent digests have quoted the same 200 lines over and over
and
over! It would be very helpful if anyone writing to the MAPUG list
would:
* Edit the material to which they are replying, so that only enough is
quoted to make the context clear (as I have just done);
* Make absolutely sure their mail reader is sent to send the message out
as
plain text, not HTML.
In short -- Be aware of what you are sending out; don't hit "send" until
you
have looked at the entire thing you're sending.
Thanks!
