While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

The cost to update to version 3.34L is $499. There are several differences
and here are a few: 3.34 uses 2 star alignment rather than 1 star. 3.34
operates on 18 volts rather than 12. Pointing to planets with the 3.34
version is a lot better but I am not certain of details.

I helped a friend update his telescope to 3.34 last year. When all was said
and done, his opinion was that the change was NOT worth the expense.
