A laser collimation device would probably be handy *if* you feel
comfortable
making the adjustments yourself (normally this consists of adjusting the
3
screws that surround the secondary mirror, at the corrector lens end).
Otherwise, save the bucks and have it professionally cleaned and
adjusted every
few years (and don't let it roll around in the trunk...:).
To jump in here....You could also invest in a set of "Bob's Knobs" These
replace the hexhead screws with ridged knobs..A very handy low tech
solution to having to use an Allen wrench.....I've had mine on my 8 inch
LX-50 for about a month now, Collimation couldnt be easier
