While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi Gary:
On the short focal length end of your list---my experience was that I could
not use the 7 mm eyepiece (a good one) with my 8 inch LX200 99% of the
time because the seeing was never good enough for the 285x magnification. A
9 mm is more generally useful, although my seeing doesn't allow me to use
that all that often either. I get much more use out of my 26 and a 13.8
Meade. At the long end, I have found the Televue 40 mm Plossl very useful,
and it's not too expensive. A 2x Barlow is certainly a good investment as
well.

Bythe way, Phil Harrington's book, Starware, has very good information on
equipment with comparisons and practical advice on magnification limits,
wide-angle considerations, etc. Excellent book!

Hope this helps...
Bert
