Joe, I'll just say... every time I tell someone I've seen it all, some blue-suit
dipstick makes a liar out of me.
Your issue with the software crashes is what drove me to Linux in the long run.
Plus, it's open code, so you can tweak your brains out if you want (just so long
as you don't break it, then blame the author !! :>o - My 'opener' is nothing
more than a recycled garage door opener; controlled by software 'given' to me
by the developer by putting it on his site; and about $40 worth of encoders &
RS232 switches.
But embedded s/w (like in the ccd's) can be and is frustrating; there you've got
no other choice - argh!
