While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Astroviking makes the statement that the AO7 isn't an autoguider and that is quite true BUT it cant tell the difference between the star your guiding on moving because of the mount error or the atmosphere. As long. as the guide star doesn't leave the area it is working in it will make the correction via mirror movement rather than mount movement. The result is the same. The guide chip it uses for reference can also control actual guiding at the same time.

Unless your mount is pretty much out of line the auto guiding never kicks in and the AO7 handles the minor adjustment but not by moving the mount but rather with the mirror instead.

Fact still remains - IT WORKS WELL

Please note: the AO7 is not a guider and the 201 XT is no adaptive
optics, this is like comparing apples to oranges.
